Samsung Galaxy Note 8 – Why now could be the best time to buy Samsung’s phablet

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was released last year to critical and commercial success.

In 2017 alone the South Korean tech giant was believed to have sold 10million Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phones.

This marked an incredible turnaround following the exploding battery fiasco that dogged the launch of its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was also lauded by critics upon its release, with giving it a 5/5 review.

In our review we said the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was “everything Samsung fans could wish for and so much more”. said: “There’s no question the Note 8 is one of the best phones Samsung has ever created.

“It’s fast, powerful and has one of the best screens we’ve ever seen on a smartphone.

“Samsung’s clever bezel-free design also means that, despite its giant 6.3-inch screen, the overall dimensions aren’t that much larger than the iPhone 7 Plus.

“Along with its design and stunning screen the camera is incredible and could easily take the crown of the best smartphone snapper of 2017.”

The Note 8 launched with a premium price point of £869 and its successor – the Galaxy Note 9 – is £30 more expensive at £899.

Earlier this week Samsung unveiled the Note 9 at an Unpacked event in Brooklyn, New York.

The Note 9 features an updated S Pen and a huge 4,000mAh battery that Samsung says will last users the entire day.

And with the Note 9’s release date fast approaching retailers have started offering money-off deals on the Note 8.

One of the stores who right now has a great offer on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is Debenhams Plus.

The online retailer is currently selling an unlocked version of the Note 8 in black for £649.

That’s a saving of £220 on the price the Note 8 launched at back in August last year.

Debenhams Plus also has the gold version of the Note 8 available for £650.

Both of these phones are – at the time of writing – in stock and Debenhams Plus offers free delivery on the products.

The handsets on offer come with 64GB of storage which can be expanded by an extra 256GB thanks to the microSD card slot.

The Note 8 features a 6.3inch AMOLED screen, boasts 6GB of RAM and is powered by the Exynos 8895 Octa Core Processor.

It also has a ultra-sharp dual lens 12 megapixel rear camera and an eight megapixel selfie camera.
