Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Shirley Ballas switches to ITV to host new show?

Shirley Ballas could be making the move to ITV, as the is due to present a new show.

Last year, the professional ballroom dancer took on the role of head judge from Len Goodman on the dancing competition.

However, during today’s edition of This Morning, Shirley announced that she will be hosting a new Love Island type show for the over 50’s.

The judge was sat poolside, donning a white dress, while making the announcement to the camera.

The 57 year-old will be hosting Matchmaker Mountain, which will see singletons over 50 find love on a mountain.

In a bid to gain audience’s attention and to attract applicants, the head judge said: “I’m on a mission to find you love.

“Are you marooned on an island of loneliness?” the dancer asked.

Adding in the mountain puns, Shirley continued: “I’ll help you climb to the heights of passion.”

Presenting  alongside his wife, Ruth Langsford, Eamon Holmes made the admission that the Strictly judge was very attractive, asking if the dancer was single.

The announcement was made during the showbiz segment of the show, which was hosted by Mollie King and Radio 1 presenter, Matt Edmondson.

Fans of Strictly shouldn’t fear however, as the head judge will back for the new series, due to start in the coming weeks.

Shirley will be joined on the panel by fellow judge’s Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

The line-up for this year’s series has begun to be announced, with five famous faces already revealed.

The was TV presenter, Katie Piper on Monday’s edition of BBC Breakfast.

Contestants two and three were announced later that evening on BBC’s The One Show.

Steps’ Faye Tozer was confirmed alongside Red Dwarf actor, Danny John-Jules, who has also starred in BBC drama, Death in Paradise.

The fourth celebrity to be unveiled was Youtuber, Joe Sugg.

Joe is a vlogger and brother to fellow Youtube sensation, Zella. The internet sensation was secretly revealed on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast show.

Vick Hope completes the steady building lin-up. Her announcement was made during her Capital FM Radio show this morning, alongside her co-host Roman Kemp.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC in a few weeks time.
