OnePlus 6T release – New flagship could be coming soon and this is how much it may cost

OnePlus is renowned for filling their devices with incredible specifications at incredibly tantalising prices.

The OnePlus 6 released back in May and featured a whopping 8GB of RAM an industry-leading Snapdragon 845 processor and a gorgeous AMOLED display.

And people could pick it up for as little as £469 if they opted for the entry-level model with 6GB of RAM or £519 if they wanted 8GB.

The OnePlus 6 was also available in a variety of colours, giving users a ton of options to pick from in addition to incredible specs.

For that reason the OnePlus 6T is highly-anticipated – the Chinese manufacturer has set a precedent of unveiling “T” models of its flagship that typically boast iterative improvements.

But it appears the release date and price of the new flagship may have just been outed.

A new report from CNET, who cited people “familiar with the launch plans” of the OnePlus 6T, declared the hardware will launch in October.

An October release date appears to line up with tradition.

OnePlus’ “T” line of hardware usually launches around 6 months after the company’s last mainline flagship.

The publication added the device’s cost is “tentatively set” at $ 550 (£431.17).

Although the publication did not clarify, this price is presumably for the entry-level model of the OnePlus 6T.

A model with more capable internals would presumably launch at the same time for a slightly higher charge.

In the US the OnePlus 6 currently costs $ 529, meaning the new T model could be more expensive.

Unfortunately the newest report did not detail any specific features the OnePlus 6T will bring when it arrives later this year.

However, Oppo, the parent company of OnePlus, recently showed off its R17 phone that touts an incredibly small notch, fingerprint sensor within the display itself and 8GB of RAM.

While the OnePlus 6T may forgo a scanner inside the screen to keep costs down, it could adopt a similar looking design choice.

This is because OnePlus has historically taken inspiration from aesthetic moves made by Oppo.

If the OnePlus 6T is releasing in October, the Chinese firm will surely be making an announcement about the upcoming device sooner rather than later.
