Sky TV rival as Amazon reveals budget Fire TV stick that brings 4K content to your telly

If you don’t want to pay huge sums on TV subscriptions and bundles then there’s plenty of ways to stream top entertainment at a cheaper price.

Sky recently announced its which brings 4K resolution content to this popular service.

This very latest streaming device offers the ability to watch shows, sporting events and movies in Ultra HD 4K HDR quality plus, using the clever voice remote, TV fans can search for programmes via the power of speech.

It also features Live Pause technology which should ensure users don’t miss any of the action on NOW TV’s premium live channels including Sky Sports, FOX, Comedy Central and Sky Atlantic.

It costs £45.99 and is also available bundled with a month’s Entertainment, Sky Cinema, Kids and Sky Sports Day Pass for just £49.99.

However, before you rush out to buy one, there’s now a rival device that’s just been revealed by .

The new Fire TV Stick 4K arrives packing more power than before and offers full Ultra HD, Dolby Vision and HDR-10+ support.

Along with all of Amazon’s content, the Fire TV Stick 4K also gives you access to over 10,000 channels, apps, and Alexa skills, as well as over 200,000 movies and TV episodes.

The device is also compatible with apps from the BBC, Netflix, ITV, Channel 4, Disney, and others.

Plus there’s Firefox and Amazon Silk browsers which allow you to browse millions of websites.

If you want to make the device even more interactive you can also add a voice remote which allows you to search for content via the power of speech.

“We’ve listened to our customers and pushed to deliver the complete 4K solution they are looking for, all within a compact stick form factor,” said Eric Saarnio, Head of Amazon Devices, Europe.

Fire TV Stick 4K is available for pre-order on Amazon for £49.99 and will start shipping on 14 November.

The all-new Alexa Voice Remote is available for pre-order as a standalone remote for £29.99 and will start shipping on 14 November.

It’s been a busy month for Amazon.

The online retail giant has just announced a swathe of devices including a new Echo Dot, Echo Show and Echo Plus which all bring major improvements to these hugely popular products.

There also some extra Alexa-powered devices arriving soon including an Echo Sub – which boosts the sound of Amazon’s speakers – and a device called the Echo Input brings voice search to any speaker you might have lying around the house.

The refreshed devices are all available now to pre-order with them going on sale later this month.
