WWE announced that Cena is the only superstar who has automatically qualified for the tournament which will determine the best in the world and the rest will have to win matches to make it to the overseas Pay-Per-View show.
The WWE Crown Jewel World Cup will be consisted of four superstars from RAW and four from Smackdown – The Champ will be representing the red brand.
Kurt Angle made a shock return to RAW and won a battle royal to earn his spot in the tournament at WWE’s next overseas Pay-Per-View show.
Smackdown will determine their first two representatives tomorrow night when Jeff Hardy faces Samoa Joe and Big Show returns to battle Randy Orton.
The Leader of the Cenation competed in his first match in over six months last weekend at WWE Super Show-Down where he teamed up with Bobby Lashley.
The stunning duo defeated Kevin Owens as well as Elias in a Tag Team Match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
After the bout the 16-time world champion fuelled recent rumours suggesting that he will be retiring from professional wrestling soon.
The ex-WWE Champion said: “I have no idea what the future holds so I focus on the now.
“And right now I’m standing in front of 70,000 people saying the word ‘What’.
“70,000 people making some noise.
“And I mean this from the bottom of my heart, there’s not a better feeling in the world.
“Thank you for letting me perform in this country and at this epic event tonight.”
However, it doesn’t look like Cena will be calling it quits any time soon as he will be in action at WWE Crown Jewel.
The 41-year-old has been working on a part-time basis with Vince McMahon’s promotion as he is following in the footsteps of fellow WWE legend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and is building a career in Hollywood.
The former World Heavyweight Champion has been part of some blockbuster hits like Blockers, Trainwreck and Daddy’s Home 2.
He has also worked with some of the biggest names in the industry like Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Amy Schumer.
