Rian Johnson has dealt with a lot of flack from the Internet, but the Star Wars director has taken it in stride.

Since the debut of The Last Jedi, Johnson’s directing chops have been dissected, praised, and trashed, by the devoted Star Wars fandom.

With The Last Jedi in the rear-view mirror, Johnson has set his sights on a new project – Knives Out.

Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming crime movie.

What is the Knives Out movie release date?

So far the vague release date for Knives Out is sometime in 2019.

What we do know is production is set to start in November this year.

Rumours surrounding the timing of the project swelled when Daniel Craig signed on – a move which pushed back the release of Bond 25.

Keep your eyes on this space for when the Knives Out official release dates are made public.

Who stars in the Knives Out cast?

The aforementioned James Bond star Daniel Craig has signed on.

Also joining Craig is Marvel alumnus Chris Evans, who recently retired from his role as Captain America.

Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry To Bother You, Get Out) is also onboard for the project, and Michael Shannon of The Shape of Water fame is in talks to join the cast as well.

These are all in unnamed roles, and further cast members are likely to be added.

What is the plot of Knives Out?

Very few details are known at the moment.

However, Johnson himself has said it will be a murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christe.

Johnson is writing and directing Knives Out and is producing alongside his producing partner Ram Bergman.

The story has reportedly been kicking around Johnson’s head for the past decade, so a well thought out plot is likely to be on the table.

Is there a trailer for Knives Out?

Not yet – there is nary a detail, not even a poster.

But keep your eyes on this space as more details are confirmed.

Knives Out may put Rian Johnson back on the good side of the Internet.
