WWE news: Kurt Angle return update – Which RAW megastar could be his next opponent?

McIntyre demolished Angle last month on RAW ahead of Survivor Series and handed the veteran his most humiliating defeat of his career.

The Scottish Psychopath beat the WWE Hall of Famer with his own finishing manoeuvres as he delivered a devastating Angle Slam and then made him tap out to the Ankle Lock.

The Scotsman was awarded with the ‘gold medal of excellence’ last Monday night by Acting General Manager Baron Corbin who rewarded him for taking out his arch nemesis.

According to Ringside News, the publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer believes this is a sign that Angle will soon get his rematch against the British superstar.

Meltzer said: “So is Angle coming back now against Drew?

“I say that’s the impression I got was that Angle was gonna come back and get McIntyre.”

McIntyre is being built as the company’s next top star, therefore he would still pose as the favourite in an encounter against Angle whose career is slowly coming to an end.

But The Olympic Hero can’t be underestimated as he is one of the most successful professional wrestlers of all time.

The ex-WWE Champion has beaten the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker and other greats.

The former World Heavyweight Champion returned to Vince McMahon’s promotion last year after an 11-year stint in TNA and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by John Cena.

He was appointed as RAW’s General Manager immediately after WrestleMania 33 and quickly returned to the ring for a brutal match at TLC.
