Huw Edwards weight loss: BBC newsreader lost THREE stone with help of this exercise

Huw Edwards is best known for his role as a newsreader for the BBC news programme, the BBC News at Ten. Tonight, the 57-year-old appeared on Strictly Come Dancing 2018 beside Claudia Winkleman, as he advised viewers to read the terms and conditions ahead of voting for their favourite celebrity contestants. Since shedding three stone in weight, the broadcaster has cut a visibly slimmer figure – with some fans claiming he looks very different these days. So, what is it which helped him to lose so much weight?

Huw Edwards has offered fans some insight into how he slimmed down and now maintains his trimmer figure via his official Instagram account, @huwbbc.

In a number of snaps shared with his 14,900 Instagram followers, the newsreader can be seen working out.

And, in one capture, Huw revealed that former British and European Boxing Champion Clinton Mckenzie – who is a 1976 Olympic finalist – had been helping to motivate him during his training regime.

“Big shout-out to The Champ who kept me going this past year,” Huw wrote, addressing Clinton.

According to reports, these intense training sessions with the former professional boxer saw the newsreader drop to 13 stone.

During a recent interview, Huw opened up about his weight loss journey.

He told The Sun: “I don’t have any beauty secrets, but I have taken up boxing.

“I’ve always battled with my weight, until I found boxing. Now I do three sessions a week and feel great.”

As well as giving a glimpse at how he stays in shape, Huw has also championed the sport for the benefits it can have to one’s mental health.

Beside one of his fitness-themed snaps, Huw told fans: “It really is ok to not be ok.”

Another TV regular who has unveiled his incredible weight loss results is Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge.

The author and TV chef used to weigh in at 30 stone, but as he approached the age of 40, he decided to make some major lifestyle changes.

After cutting alcohol out of his diet as well as changing what he ate, the star, who is now 45, slimmed by 12 stone to a healthy 18 stone.

Tom also upped the amount of exercise he carried out, and revealed that he began swimming in order to boost his weight loss results.

Speaking during the BBC Radio 4 show Desert Island Discs recently, he said: “I’d swim a mile and I’d swim it really slowly and I wouldn’t give up.

“It’s a big step to get into a swimming pool being that big. Being conscious of your body and worrying about it.”
