The dance duo made headlines during their time in the competition, after they were pictured kissing – despite them both being romantically-involved with other people.
Last night the dancer was spotted dancing in the background on the show – but what did her body language reveal? Katya Jones returned to the small screen in last night’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
Supporting her fellow cast members who are still fighting for a chance to get hold of the Glitterball trophy, the 29-year-old could be seen standing with her colleagues.
The dancer, who won last year’s series, found herself the subject of headlines, after pictures of her and her dance partner Seann Walsh kissing emerged. Katya is married to fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones, who also stars in group dances – but is yet to have his own celebrity dance partner.
Following the episode, body language expert Judi James revealed to Express.co.uk what she’d noticed about the two choreographer’s behaviour tonight.
She said: “This duo still manage to upstage the celebrity dancers with their own little Strictly soap opera that takes place weekly now in the background on the balcony.
“Will they appear together? Will they even acknowledge one another’s existence?”
Judi continued: “This week was a revelation in terms of ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ togetherness signals.
“After standing apart they did wash up together for one breath-taking moment when Katya did actually tilt her head upward to gaze at Neil with something bordering on affection.
The specialist said: “Since the whole kiss-gate scandal blew up and blew over, spotting Katya in the background of Strictly scenes seems to have become a bit of a national pastime.
“This week she only seemed to pop up on the balcony when her husband was nowhere to be seen, as though the duo now have a pact to only appear separately.
“There was a time a couple of weeks ago when they were both visible in the same shot as long as you have a wide-screen TV, but this week it was either Neil or Katya but not both at the same time on the balcony.
“When Neil popped up he danced an odd threesome with AJ and Lauren but when it was Katya’s turn she seemed to be looking rather more morose and chewing something at the back of the group.”
Just five couples are remaining in the competition, who are currently competing to bag a spot in next week’s Grand Final.
Those who are left with a chance are Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard, Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev, Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice, and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell.
