Martin Lewis reveals simple trick to get 2for1 cinema tickets & three course meal for £1

Martin Lewis, 46, shared a host of financial advice on his programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show. The money saving expert focused the show on debt, and how to clear it – but he also had a cheeky trick to get cheaper cinema tickets or reduced meals out. In a short video, Martin said: “Get 2for1 movies for a year for £1 – and 2for1 meals as well. “This is available from Sunday to Thursday, and can be used by up to six people.

“The meal is for starter, main and dessert.

“As you may have guessed by now, this is available through the Compare the Market Meerkat Movies, and the new Meerkat Meals.

“To get the deal, you have to buy insurance through Compare the Market.

“But this comparison site may not be your cheapest, so you have to think what is the littlest thing you can get to trigger the promotion?

“The answer? UK travel insurance – for one day only. Depending on your situation, this could cost from £1 to £3.”

Elsewhere in the show, Martin shared his expert advice on money transfer cards.

The ITV star advised using an eligibility check to find the best deal for your personal needs, advising HSBC and First Direct currently have the best offer for balance transfers.

He told viewers: “First Direct pays you £100 to join it, so if you have a £300 overdraft, you’ll pay some off and the rest is interest free.”

However, he advised: “For bigger overdrafts go for a money transfer card.”

Earlier today, Martin appeared on This Morning to reveal how to get the best mortgage deals.

The expert claimsed the rates of new mortgages are still pretty close to historic lows right now, so you should still check and see if you can save by switching now.

This is especially if you’re on your lender’s standard variable rate (SVR) – the default rate most fixes and trackers revert to when the intro deal ends – then the savings can be huge.

What are the best deals on the market right now?

Martin had a wealth of advice for ITV viewers.
