Kate Middleton’s birthday took place on Sunday, according to reports. However, it has been reported that former-actress Meghan Markle was not invited. The Duchess of Cambridge celebrated turning 37 at an intimate party. This came after rumours of a rift between the two women has been rife.
The Sun journalist Dan Wootton appeared on Lorraine today to discuss Meghan skipping the birthday celebrations.
He told the Scottish host: “ Lots of people are saying that is a bit odd.”
The Daily Mail reported Kate Middleton’s birthday celebrations took the form a lunch at Anmer Hall – her country residence in Norfolk.
Kate invited Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who is a godmother to Prince George, her husband David, who was at Eton with William and Laura Meade, their Norfolk neighbour who is godmother of Princess Charlotte.
Dan added: “Would (Meghan) not be there given that they are so intent on people asking about the rift that isn’t? But, to be be honest, the rift very much is.”
However, the celebrity journalist revealed there was actually a very good reason the LA-born Suits star was not at the party.
He said: “But there is a but here, Meghan and Harry were on holiday.”
