A man has revealed how the keto diet weight loss plan helped him lose 13.5 stone. The Reddit user who goes by Perdota detailed his weight loss plan. He has shrunk from 475 lbs to 286 lbs, shedding 189 lbs in total, or a whopping 13.5 stone. The 30-year-old lost almost half his body weight and increased his muscle mass.
He told other Reddit users: “Decided to start the ketogenic diet in September 2016, lost over 200 lbs over the span of a year, picked up road cycling and more serious weight lifting.”
After dieting for over two years he revealed he has almost reached his goal weight.
He said: “I haven’t really reached my final form yet, but I’m able to do all the things in life now, that I’ve always dreamed of.”
What exactly did he eat on his weight loss plan?
The dieter ate less than 20g of carbohydrates a day.
He limited himself to 1500 calories per day.
He added: “For every hour of activity, I added an estimated 75 per cent of those calories on top.
“Since my BMR was and still is around 3500 calories, I was able to lose about 2kg a week.”
Now he is lifting weights the Reddit user revealed he eats 3,500 calories a day with a minimum of 200g protein daily.
He cycles, plays volleyball and lifts weight, with a 530lbs deadlift and 440lbs squat.
What is the keto diet?
The plan is low carb and similar in someways to the Atkins diet.
By removing sugar from the diet the body is forced to rely on fat.
