Three-year-old Casey Lynn Hathaway was missing out on three days prior to searchers discovered him on January 24, 2019. He was tangled up in briars deep in the woods, however he was safe and noise. After he was discovered, Casey had a fish story to tell everybody.
The youngster was obviously playing outdoors in the lawn with 2 other children, and the children Casey had been having fun with gone back to the home without him. The family frantically searched for little Casey for 45 minutes before great-grandmother Ann Toler Edwards, 57, called 911, involving the authorities and the FBI.
“Casey Hathaway is described as a white male with blonde hair and brown eyes. He is 28 inches tall and weighing 25 pounds.”
This little kid was lost in the woods and all alone!
While the Craven County, North Carolina, community collected to search and hold prayer vigils, the FBI kept volunteers from taking part in the search on the 2nd day because of the heavy rain and strong winds pounding the location where Casey was lost.
“You have a lot of individuals volunteering from our neighborhood and surrounding areas because they were putting themselves in the shoes of the household,” youth pastor Jonathan Ipock informed The Date Times.”What would take place if that was among their kids? It’s just amazing to see everyone come together to assist.”
For 3 frigid days and two nights where temperatures hovered in the ’20s, Casey wasn’t “appropriately dressed to brace the wintery weather.”
“We went through the woods– through the thicket and the briars,” volunteer Donna Harris informed WTVD.”We did it for three-and-a-half, 4 hours and it was bad. It was really bad out there … As it got darker, it was scary out there. I simply can’t think of a 3-year-old being out there.”
Shane Grier, captain of Chocowinity EMS, is the individual who found Casey after getting an idea that someone had actually heard a kid’s voice.
“We responded to a pointer and discovered him by voice,” Grier said. “Disentangled him from some briars and brought him out.”
Grier said as quickly as he got to the location, he heard Casey requiring his mama.
“He was cold. He was spoken,” Grier said. “Thinking about the conditions, I believe he’s doing extremely well.”
“He’s good, he’s good, he’s up and talking, he’s already asking to see Netflix,” said Casey’s mom, Brittany Hathaway, at a news conference late Thursday night.
While this story has a really delighted ending, one of the most surprising details is what the family revealed after Casey got back.
“Casey is healthy, smiling, and talking. He said he socialized with a bear for 2 days. God sent him a pal to keep him safe,” she wrote on Facebook. “God is [a] excellent God.
