Sally Metcalfe (played by Sally Dynevor) has been giving her sister Gina Seddon (Connie Hyde) the cold shoulder since she returned to Coronation Street.
Unsurprisingly, the former Mayor of Weatherfield is furious with her sibling as she contributed to her being sent to prison and made advances towards her husband Tim (Joe Duttine) while she was away.
Now, she is back on the cobbles Sally is keen to distance herself from Gina, however, she may leave it too late to pack things up.
With the Underworld factory’s roof set to collapse next month – leaving one resident dead – there is every possibility it could be Gina, who is trapped in the rubble.
Both women work at the underwear factory and speculation is growing about the unsuspecting victim.
In a matter of days, Gina will try her very best to make things right with Sally, but will find herself being pushed further away.
The drama unfolds on Wednesday night’s (February 22) edition of the ITV soap when the factory workers agree to hit the town together.
However, Sally will refuse to go on the night out if Gina is in attendance too, crushing her sister’s hope of a reunion.
After, Gina will rally Sally’s friends and family to help her raise money to throw her a party.
But her plan quickly turns into a disaster when the cash goes missing and Gina is instantly blamed for the failed operation.
In actuality, Gina will post the envelope containing the money at number 13 for Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent), but her dad Kevin (Michael Le Vell) will pick it up thinking it was a gift from her for Jack’s (Kyran Bowes) holiday.
None the wiser, Kevin takes the money believing it is intended for his youngest child and heads off for his vacation with Jack.
Later, Gina discovers the Sophie never got the envelope and they are forced to break the news to everyone that the money disappeared and the party is off.
It would appear Gina’s chances of reconciling with Sally are slim to none and there is every possibility the two will get caught up in the Underworld carnage.
Will Gina be crushed under the rubble when the roof collapses, leaving Sally heartbroken they never resolved their issues?
Some fans of the show are convinced Rana Nazir (Bhavna Limbachia) will perish in the accident, as actress Bhavna confirmed her exit from the series earlier this year.
In a video posted on Twitter in January, she revealed: “I just wanted to give you a little message to say thank you so much for following Rana’s journey and for the continued support of the storyline.
“I do have some news – my journey at Coronation Street will be coming to an end. I’ve had a wonderful time and there’s still lots to film.
“I am really grateful to Iain our producer for respecting my decision to leave and we’ve come up with a wonderful exit storyline.”
Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
