Billie Eilish is an extraordinary artist, creating music which is well beyond her years. At just 18-years-old, she stormed the Grammys and Brit Awards in 2020 and has a huge following of loyal fans. But has she now achieved another milestone of appearing in the Guinness Book of World Records?

In fact, she has broken 13 records in one year, which certainly feels like a record in itself.

The singer’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, also broke a Guinness World Record for his work with Billie, meaning the siblings are getting stronger by the day.

The most recent record broken by Billie relates to the James Bond theme song, for which she performs the song No Time to Die.

The song was written by herself and Finneas, and has made her the youngest ever singer to perform a James Bond theme song.

As well as that, Billie achieved six Guinness World Records for her Grammy Award wins, which were substantial.

Billie broke the record for being the youngest artist to be nominated in all four field categories, which are Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Record of the Year.

She also happened to win all those awards, making her both the first female and the youngest artist to achieve this.

Billie became the youngest artist and the youngest solo artist to win Album of the Year, as well as youngest Record of the Year artist.

Outside of her Grammy wins, Billie also broke the record for most streams on Spotify for a female artist in one year, and became one of the most-searched-for people on the internet.

Her high-search saw her break three records, for being the most-searched-for musician, most-searched-for female and most-searched-for female musician in one year.

Her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was also named the most streamed album on Spotify, meaning Billie broke yet another record.

Billie’s James Bond theme song, while record-breaking in one way, has gained some criticism by those not so enamoured with the teenage superstar having the honour of a 007 movie theme song at such a young age.

Billie said of the mixed reaction to her performance: “That was the rough period. I wasn’t mad about it because I understand.

“Why wouldn’t people have wants for the song that’s the theme to their favourite franchise? That’s totally understandable.

“But my favourite thing is an open mind, especially when it was closed before.

“I love when people aren’t stuck to their pretences, which I am totally guilty of all the time.

“I hear that something’s going to happen and I’m like: ‘That’s ridiculous. It should never be that way. It’s never going to be good.’

“And it’s important to keep your mind open and just listen and be like: ‘You know what, actually? I was wrong. This is really good.’”

Other big names in the movie world have praised the decision to pick Billie, however, including renowned composer Hans Zimmer.
