Barcelona CEO and former president Josep Maria Bartomeu arrested as Nou Camp is raided

Former Barcelona president and current CEO Josep Maria Bartomeu has been arrested following a raid on the club’s offices on Monday.

Barca CEO Oscar Grau and Head of legal Roman Gómez Ponti and CEO Oscar Grau were also arrested.

It comes amid the continued investigation into ‘BarcaGate’.

Club officials have been accused of launching a smear campaign against current and former players who were critical of the Catalan club and the former president.

Police entered Barcelona’s stadium on Monday in a search and seize operation, the club confirmed.
