Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Liverpool[1] striker Divock Origi this summer.

The 25-year-old has found game-time at Anfield hard to come by this season, and has made just two Premier League[2] starts in the whole campaign.

With Diogo Jota now fit again Origi’s minutes look set to be limited even further in the near future, and it is believed the player himself is ready for a new opportunity.

And according to Italian outlet CalcioMercato[3] Inter look set to make an offer for the player at the end of the season to try to tempt Liverpool to sell.

Inter already have the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks, and some may question why they need another forward.

But manager Antonio Conte is believed to be a big fan of Origi, and thinks he would be the perfect addition to add further strength in depth to his squad.

If Origi does leave he will be remembered fondly by the Liverpool faithful for the part he played in their successful 2018-19 Champions League campaign.

Origi scored twice in the dramatic 4-0 semi-final second leg win against Barcelona[4], and also netted in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham[5] in the final in Madrid.

It is not yet clear how much the Reds would demand for the transfer, with Origi’s contract not set to expire until 2024.

But if they miss out on Champions League football next season they may well look to save some money by shifting a few of their less important players, and Origi is likely to be one they would be willing to sacrifice.

The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino may also be deemed surplus to requirements this summer, while rumours continue to suggest Mohamed Salah could demand a move.
