Manchester United could reportedly face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer.

The 21-year-old winger was pursued by United last summer, but in the end they could not tempt Dortmund to lower their £110m valuation of the England international.

Talk of Sancho’s future has largely been overshadowed by his teammate Erling Haaland[1] in recent months, who is attracting the attention of a number of elite clubs all around Europe.

United are one of the potential destinations that have been touted for Haaland, but according to The Athletic[2] they are wary of getting into another drawn out transfer saga, and see Sancho as a more realistic option.

However, PSG are also closely monitoring his situation, and could well make a move if Kylian Mbappe refuses to sign a new contract at Parc des Princes.

But Sancho’s preference is believed to be a move to the Premier League[3], and this could well be the summer he finally gets his dream move.

He is known to have a close friendship with the likes of Marcus Rashford, and has discussed a return to England while away on international duty with the Three Lions.

Dortmund are likely to be much more willing to let the player go this time around, especially if it allows them to hold onto Haaland for one more year.

And a bid in the region of £80m-90m for Sancho could tempt them to reluctantly sell up, with his contract set to expire in 2023.

In the meantime, Sancho is facing a race against time to return to fitness before his side’s Champions League quarter-final second leg clash against Manchester City[4] on Wednesday.

He has recently been missing with a muscle injury, but returned to training on Sunday, and still has an outside chance of making the match.
