Fortnite downtime: How long are Fortnite servers down for update 16.20?
Epic Games has announced that it will be taking down servers for a new Fortnite Season 6 update, complete with new content.

Today’s patch will be released across PS4, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile at the same time.

This means that Fortnite servers will need to be taken offline to make way for the latest changes.

Fortnite will remain unplayable during an extended period of Epic maintenance, but it should be worth it.

The development team has confirmed that a new Bow will be released today, alongside 50-player matchmaking in Creative, and new vehicle cosmetics.

The Unstable Bow was leaked earlier this year and could be the new Bow being teased by Epic Games.

This is expected to come with some kind of glitch feature, which has yet to be announced in Fortnite.

WHEN IS FORTNITE DOWNTIME FOR UPDATE 16.10 STARTING?

Fortnite server downtime has been scheduled by Epic Games for 7am GMT, on Tuesday, April 13.

For gamers in the United States, this will mean maintenance starting at the much earlier time of 12:01am, on the same day.

Servers will be coming back online at the same time for everyone, so no one should be left waiting.

Epic Games has not confirmed how long Fortnite downtime will last but they have warned that it will be longer than normal.

A message from Epic Games explains: “The road is what you make it. Update v16.20 is scheduled to release on April 13. Downtime will begin at approx. 2 AM ET (06:00 UTC).

“Trick out your ride with new wheels. Bow and arrow Sharpen those bow skills and focus up for a special Duos Cup. Exploding head 50-player matchmaking in Creative.

“Please note: Downtime will be starting earlier than normal. This downtime will be of a longer duration than normal. The patch will be released for download a few hours into downtime.”

The official Epic Games site suggests that the longest servers could be down is five hours, which is longer than usual.

This would mean that Fortnite servers will not be available until Midday on Tuesday, April 13.

However, this is just a prediction, meaning that things could be back much sooner if anything goes well.

And today’s new Fortnite patch isn’t the only big change Epic Games is making to its hit Battle Royale game.

Gamers in Europe will soon be able to buy V-Bucks Cards from select retailers in the UK (Game), France (Micromania) and Germany (GameStop, Esso, Deutsche Post, Eni/Agip and Jet).

A message from Epic adds: “The cards will be coming to more retailers across these countries soon. The V-Bucks cards work everywhere you can play Fortnite.

“After purchasing a V-Bucks card, visit www.fortnite.com/vbuckscard to learn more and redeem your V-Bucks for use on any device.

“And if you play Fortnite on a console device, make sure you visit www.fortnite.com/vbuckscard first to redeem your card and then follow the directions for your specific device.”
