Opening up on her heartache over the decision in view of her 434,000 followers, Janette, who is married to fellow Strictly pro Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, wrote: “I am truly grateful to have this holiday to distract me from the heavy sadness I have in my heart that this is not going forward…
“I have missed dancing more then I can ever explain, but unfortunately hard decisions have been made by higher ups.”
Janette went on to apologise to fans about not being able to perform for those who had bought tickets to the event.
“All ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase and offered an exchange into the 2022 Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals Tour where possible, or a full refund if that is their preference.”
Fans took to the comments section of Janette’s post to share their thoughts on the announcement.
One person wrote: “I’m truly gutted for you @jmanrara I really am. I hope I get to meet you one day xxxxxxxxx.”
A third fan commented: “Sad but necessary.”
Janette’s other half Aljaz posted an Instagram live video this evening to instruct fans to wear face masks on public transport to ensure that theatres can open again soon in light of the news.
Janette’s Strictly co-star Dianne Buswell also took to social media to share her disappointment.
The dancer penned: “So gutted about this. Sorry to all that we’re looking forward to it [sic].
“But on the bright side, next year will be bigger, better and brighter for all.”
