Stranger Things: Emma Thompson discusses role of ‘Mind Flayer’
Prior to the nuptials, which were witnessed by millions across the planet, the Oscar-winning actress was talking to Sky News regarding a BBC production of King Lear she was starring in.
But Emma was left furious that the Reuters reporter continued speaking about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – and not her new feature-length show.
She told the reporter: “[There’s] not a single thought about it in my head to share with you, I’m so sorry.

The reporter didn’t stop, and asked the Hollywood star whether she wished the Sussexes well, before replying: “Obviously, yes, but I don’t know them.
“Stop it, just stop it okay. Stop doing the, ‘Let’s talk about the royal wedding’. Just give the poor kids a break.”
Emma has met with members of the Royal Family on numerous occasions, including when she was made a Dame in recognition of her services to drama.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, Emma recalled how you “get two badges” and that she wore shoes that “gave me so much hell”.
She continued: “Then [William] had to pin it on and it’s a little bit of a nipple moment and you go, ‘Gosh, I wasn’t expecting that.'”
Emma then explained how she made a “very loud and inappropriate noise inside Buckingham Palace” after William “hurt” her with the second badge pin.

Emma Thompson reportedly sung to Prince Charles
Although she shares a solid friendship with William, Emma is also close with his father Prince Charles.
According to the 2015 book Charles: Heart of a King, this was demonstrated when Emma told the publication’s author Catherine Mayer she used to write to him about her life working as a theatre actress – and would try and sometimes cheer him up.
She said: “I would get periodical messages from the boys [William and Harry] to look after him at Highgrove saying: ‘[Could you] drop him a note because he’s a bit low in the water,’ so I’d pick up my pen and write as funny a letter as I could think of.”

Emma reportedly sang, “It’s you, you look gorgeous” to the couple, who met the elite group of performers including the likes of Dame Judi Dench, Colin Firth and Sir Michael Caine.
