Xbox Live servers are down tonight, leaving gamers unable to log in and access core features on consoles like Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
The cause of the outage is not known, however; it appears to be affecting thousands of gamers. The latest on the situation suggests that gamers can sign into their accounts but can’t access games or go online to use multiplayer.
This means that titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone are effectively unplayable, alongside all online-only games.
A large number of reports have been coming in since 10:30pm BST, describing the problems facing gamers tonight.
One user writes: “My Xbox says I’m not connected to the internet, but I am; also, Discord won’t load any messages.”
Other reports add: “This is ridiculous another outage in the middle of a game WOW. “Yeah, I can’t sign into my Xbox app or anything at all.”
Gamers also confirm that they can use other apps, such as Netflix, while the Xbox Live services remain offline.
It’s unclear what is causing tonight’s outage or how long it might last on Microsoft services.
A very short message from Microsoft reveals the extent of the outage, telling gamers tonight: “You may have problems launching games.”
More news is expected from Microsoft if tonight’s Xbox Live outage continues into June 3.
