Fortnite update 17.00 is going to be massive, bringing with it map changes, a new Battle Pass and plenty of story twists for gamers to enjoy.
And Epic Games has confirmed its release schedule for the popular Battle Royale game, meaning we know when Fortnite Season 7 is coming out across all platforms.
The good news is that, like all other new seasons, this week’s Fortnite patch will be launched simultaneously on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mobile and Nintendo platforms.
There will be no platform left behind or any gamers left waiting longer than others. However, Epic Games has also confirmed that they will also need to perform some important maintenance.
This means that Fortnite servers will be down for as long as a few hours as Epic Games prepare for the release of Season 7.
The development team behind the hit shooter have also revealed that they will be pushing a bigger than normal patch this week.
So gamers should be prepared to follow some simple rules before expecting to play Fortnite Season 7.
- Fortnite Season 6 ending with the start of server maintenance.
- Fortnite Downtime lasting for a few hours, or until Epic Games confirms servers are back online.
- Downloading a bigger than normal patch, which could take longer depending on how many are doing the same.
- Completing whatever intromission, or watching a new story trailer before being able to explore the revamped map.
WHAT TIME IS FORTNITE SEASON 7 UPDATE COMING OUT?
According to developers Epic Games, the Fortnite Season 7 update time has been set for after 7am BST on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Regular Fortnite downtime can take up to three hours, meaning Fortnite Season 7 is expected to be playable at around 10am BST.
However, like with all new seasons, there is a chance of delays and other issues extending the process.
So based on the latest news, we would predict things to kick off again by late morning time, early afternoon in the UK.
A message from Epic Games explains: “The Primal Season — and Makeshift weapons — will soon be extinct. Craft ‘em while you got ‘em. Downtime for Chapter 2 Season 7 begins at 2 AM ET (06:00 UTC).
“With the launch of the new Season, please note that patch sizes will be larger than normal on all platforms.
“In Season 7, we’re adding the ability to cancel your Shakedown of an opponent.
“Hitting Reload or the same button/key you used to pick the opponent up will immediately drop them mid-shake, cancelling any accidental interrogations.”
So for anyone wanting to complete their final challenges, Epic Games is warning to have everything wrapped before the morning of June 8 in the UK.
AGENT JONES’ JUMP STYLES – Make sure to complete any outstanding Anomaly Quests to unlock each of Agent Jones’ Jump Styles. Look for a glowing rift fragment near the location mentioned in the Quest and follow its instructions to complete the challenge.
SUPER LEVELING – Beyond Level 100? You might be close to one of the exclusive Super Level Style for Tarana, Raz, or the Spire Assassin.
THE SPIRE QUESTLINE – Finally, complete The Spire questline to face off against Glyph Master Raz and unlock the dark thief’s Style for your Locker. We understand some players have had difficulty with Spire Quests and will be granting the Glyph Master Style to players who’ve progressed in a Spire Quest and unlocked the Raz Outfit at level 50 of the Battle Pass.
Not much has been revealed regarding Fortnite Season 7 but it looks like Aliens will be playing a big role.
Players have already started being abducted and while it doesn’t look like there will be a big Fortnite live event at the end of Season 6, that doesn’t mean something isn’t being planned for the coming weeks.
A new Fortnite Story Trailer is being released at 7am BST, and this could offer the latest news on what will be coming next.
There could even be a new intromission to play before you can hit the Fortnite Season 7 servers, although this has not been confirmed yet by Epic Games.
