After four years in Edinburgh, Richard Cockerill has resigned. The former England hooker leaves by mutual consent to “pursue other opportunities.” Edinburgh was second in Conference B last season’s PRO14.

Richard Cockerill left Edinburgh to pursue other opportunities by mutual consent.
Cockerill stated: “Having had productive conversations with Jim Mallinder, Mark Dodson after season, we agreed to come to an arrangement where I would be leaving the club by mutual consent in order to pursue other opportunities.”
“I want to thank everybody at Edinburgh Rugby, for all the hard work that they put into it. The club has had a great four years.
“I also want to thank the supporters for all they did for me and my team. You have been incredible.
“I wish all of the players and staff the very best and I look forward to seeing you at your new venue.”
