France, Spain Portugal, Greece, Greece, & Italy – FCDO updates for quarantine-free holidays back

In response to the rising number of Covid cases in Britain, several countries have increased entry requirements for British citizens.

Which is the most recent Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advice (FCDO), for European vacation destinations like France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Italy?

France

The UK Government declared Friday that France would no longer be able to apply the quarantine-free rule in full vaccination for Britons.

The Government claims that the government made the decision due to concern over the high number of Beta variant cases, which were originally found in South Africa and are now being detected in France.

The FCDO has updated their website to clarify that the amber rules for UK-vaccinated persons do not apply in France.

You must comply with the amber-list rules if you’ve been to France within the last 10 days.

This means that you will need to quarantine in England for 10 days upon arrival and then take the day 2 and 8 COVID-19 test.

These tests must be booked in advance.

When you fill out your passenger locator, you will be asked whether you’re exempted from quarantine or if you’ll take the day eight test.

This is the section titled “Your coronavirus(COVID-19), vaccination status”.

France also has its own requirements regarding UK entry.

Unvaccinated Britons are not allowed to travel outside the country, as it is on France’s “amber” list.

According to the FCDO, “Travellers not fully vaccinated must self-isolate for seven days following arrival and then undergo a second PCR test after this time.”

Only those with a valid vaccination are allowed to travel to France. They do not have to be self-isolated upon arrival.

The FCDO states that “from 18 July fully-vaccinated adults will no longer have to show evidence of negative results before traveling.”
