Arsenal continues to exhaust options as it continues its team overhaul.
It appears one player on the Gunners’ radar is Tammy Abraham of Chelsea.
The English striker has fallen down the pecking order of Thomas Tuchel, and it does not appear that his fortunes will improve moving forward.
Critics see him being sent out on loan, with the Blues possibly playing it safe.
The Gunners are looking to add more punch to their campaign with several players moving out.
If they can get something done, Abraham could be a perfect complement to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But the question there is should the two clubs negotiate, will it be a permanent transfer or a loan spell?
According to former Tottenham Hotspur Jermaine Jenas, a loan spell is more likely. He feels that Chelsea would be foolish to cut ties with Abraham.
“I would like to think that Tammy could maybe go on a loan. I don’t think it’s the time for Chelsea to be completely cutting ties,” Jenas stated.
To get it done, an Abraham move to Arsenal will require big money. The Gunners would have to fork out £40 million ($54.57 million) for the services of the 23-year-old striker.
However, getting Abraham to the Emirates Stadium may also depend on another development.
Chelsea seems bent on taking in Erling Haaland, and Abraham could be used as a makeweight asset in the deal as the Norwegian striker is valued at £150 million ($204 million).
Unfortunately, Borussia Dortmund feels that the valuation of Abraham is excessive.
Hence, an alternative would be to deal away Abraham to a team for their preferred fee.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta continues to find ways to come up with a formidable roster for next season.
Abraham could make sense, but if Arteta blinks, he could end up falling short in his chase for a highly-touted target once more.
