Elle Edwards, a fitness influencer, has spoken with the BBC about cyber-flashing and explicit private messages. This is the non-consensual sending and receiving of images and videos of male sexual organs.
She stated that she and her peers have to deal with this type of abuse every day in their comments and DMs.
The Law Commission issued recommendations Wednesday proposing that cyber-flashing or abusive online messages should be outlawed by the government through a harms-based offense. It would ban the practice in cases of harm that are likely to occur or intended by the sender.
