Demarai Gray arrived in Florida for an exam before he moves to Everton. The fee is approximately PS1.6 million.
Everton is currently in Orlando to play at the Florida Cup. They will start their preseason fixtures on Sunday with a friendly against Millonarios from Colombia.
Gray may be available for that match, and Gray’s move to Bayer Leverkusen Toffees is expected to be finalized on Thursday.
Just six months after joining Leverkusen as a Leicester 18-month-contract winger, the 25-year old is expected to sign a two-year contract.
Gray was a member of the Bundesliga team 12 times, recording one goal and two assists.
Everton is expected to sign him as the third in a matter days, after the signings of Asmir Begovic (Bournemouth) and Andros Townsend (free transfer).
Rafa Benitez, the new manager of his team after taking over from Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park, welcomes these arrivals.
Liverpool’s Everton stadium construction loses World Heritage status
Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage status has been removed due to developments along the waterfront including Everton’s new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock.
After a vote of members from UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee China, the decision was taken.
The committee released a report in June stating that developments along the waterfront of the city had led to an “irreversible loss in attributes”.
In 2004, Liverpool received World Heritage status, joining other sites like the Taj Mahal or the Great Wall of China.
Since 1978, it is the third place to lose their status.
