Jackson, in his 1988 autobiography Moonwalk about the album, recalled the song’s writing but said it was not related to Elvis Presley.

He said, “I swear that [Heartbreak Hotel] came from my mind and I didn’t think of any other songs when I wrote it.”

Heartbreak Hotel is a single that Elvis recorded in his first album, which may be recalled by fans of The King of Rock and Roll.

This legendary track topped Billboard Hot 100 for 7 weeks straight after it was released. It has sold over 1 million copies and became Elvis’ first gold record.

Jackson and Lisa Marie were married in the Dominican Republic, in 1994. This was unbeknownst of her mother, Priscilla.

They were interviewed on Oprah Winfrey’s show together to talk about their relationship, marriage and sex lives.

Lisa Marie enthusiastically answered “Yes!” when asked about their sex.

The couple filed for divorce in December 1995.

Lisa Marie cited “irreconcilable differences”.

Jackson wed Debbie Rowe less than one year later, who was willing to give him his children.

They divorced after he gave birth to their first children, Prince Jackson (and Paris Jackson) in 1999.
