Prosecutors Want To Provide New Evidence Against R. Kelly Coming Trial

Multiple reports claim that federal prosecutors asked a judge Friday for permission to accept new evidence against R. Kelly, who is facing uncharged charges of bribery as well as sexual abuse of minors.

In a 55-page motion, Kelly alleges that Kelly sexually assaulted a boy aged 17 who he met in Chicago at McDonald’s. Kelly also claims that Kelly coerced him to have sex. Kelly recorded the incident.

After the 2019 documentary Surviving R. Kelly had been released, Kelly‚Äôs crisis manager allegedly bribed an Cook County clerk for information about Kelly’s legal problems.

Prosecutors said that they found a recording of Kelly and Kelly talking about bribery after looking through Kelly’s mobile phone.

Kelly, according to the prosecution, believed that he was pregnant with Aaliyah Haughton when she married him in 1994. They claim this belief is motivated by his desire to protect her against being forced to testify against Kelly.

Kelly is also wanted by the prosecution to be shown videos showing his verbal and physical abuse. One video, allegedly of Kelly threatening an 18 year-old girl he believes stole from him, will be played for the jury.

R. Kelly will be tried in Federal Court in the Eastern District. His indictment accuses him of using minors to sexually exploit them, which includes Aaliyah who was killed in a 2001 plane crash, as well as producing and receiving child pornography. The prosecution also cited at least 10 instances of sexual abuse that occurred with various women, dating back to 1991. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held in Brooklyn.
