Sky abandons Sky One after NOW, Sky+ HD, and Virgin Media It’s been 40 years.

Sky One will be removed from your Sky Q and Sky+ HD TV guides, Virgin Media, BT, and NOW set top boxes starting September 1, 2021. The channel has been in existence for over 39 years and is home to The Simpsons and panel shows such as A League Of Their Own and Rob and Romesh Vs. It also imports US-made programs like 24 Battlestar Galactica and Prison Break. The UK’s oldest non-terrestrial TV channel is where you can find current episodes of DC shows such as Supergirl, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow and The Flash.

However, all that is about to change. All Sky One customers in the UK will lose their service starting September 1. Sky One will be replaced by Sky Showcase. It will remain in prime position on the TV Guide.

The channel will feature a variety of popular shows, from Sky Comedy and Sky Documentaries.

The shows currently only airing on Sky One will now be split into other channels of the satellite company’s network. These are becoming increasingly focused on specific genres like Sky Witness, Sky Comedy and Sky Documentaries. This will allow viewers to find shows in the TV Guide more easily. Sky Nature has all the most recent true crime documentaries, and Sky Witness is the best place for David Attenborough.

Sky Q can instantly improve your picture quality at no additional cost

Showcase is similar to Sky Main Event for those familiar with Sky Sports’ current lineup. This linear channel presents the top-rated and most talked about fixtures in Sky Sports. Sky Main Event does not have any exclusive shows. Sky Showcase will.

One exception is made, however. Sky Showcase may pick from other channels, but you won’t see any Sky Atlantic exclusives on the channel. Sky Atlantic hosts the most popular US dramas including Succession and Mare Of Easttown. It also shows I Hate Suzie, Little Big Lies and I Hate Suzie.

Sky Atlantic can only be accessed on Sky Q or Sky+HD, and not NOW. Virgin Media subscribers can view all channels in Sky’s portfolio. Sky Atlantic is only available to Sky set-top box owners. Virgin Media TV 360 will show Sky Showcase, so bringing Sky Atlantic shows to this channel would allow these titles to be shown on the telly.

Sky Max, an entirely new channel will be launched next.

Sky Max will launch with some of the most exciting new shows on Sky. This includes the much-anticipated revival of Never Mind the Buzzcocks comedy panel show, The Russell Howard Hour and the largest DC shows that were previously available on Sky One.

These changes will take effect on September 1, 2021. Sky customers will have access to the new channels at no additional cost. They will also be available on streaming service NOW and set-top boxes provided by Virgin Media and BT.
