Alongside their own research, they looked at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and found the most common type of fraud in the UK is debit and credit card fraud (18 percent).
Other common types of fraud, which affect nearly one in 10 British savers, includes internet banking fraud (nine percent), text fraud (eight percent), mobile banking fraud (six percent) and cash machine fraud (five percent).
With cash machine fraud at five percent, customers will need to be especially wary as a new cash machine scam has been identified.
A similar scam has been identified in which scammers are covering withdrawal slots with a plastic sheet/box.
