This weekend’s technical preview of Halo Infinite is wrapping up. Halo gamers on Xbox and PC are currently enjoying this multiplayer option. A datamine by dedicated fans found a voice record that strongly indicates that there may soon be a Halo Infinite Battle Royale Mode.
Beta datamine already revealed major information that fans didn’t know about, such as the existence multiple co-op/single-player campaigns, which had at most been hintted at by dev teams, and an alarmingly high number of spoilers including plot details and mission details and at least one twist.
The new leak is the easiest, yet most significant in terms of its consequences. Originally posted on ResetEra, it’s a simple voice file recording. This voice comes from Halo Infinite’s multiplayer announcer. They say the match mode when they start. Although it’s just two words, these words will frighten any Halo fan.
The short video is available below. It’s quite clear. It could also be an easy game mode, in battle royale, and not an extensive mode such as Fortnite (which Master Chief is currently in), or Battlefield 5’s Firestorm. You could also have an unutilized file 343 Industries saved just in case.
We certainly won’t know until 343 or Microsoft decides to reveal it, but given the popularity of the battle royale genre, it’s not a stretch to imagine a mode could be in the works for Halo Infinite’s free multiplayer. Either way, there’s a strong possibility we’ll find out in November.
