Manchester United could have another Cristiano Ronaldo. David De Gea

The club needed both players to bulk up, but once they had, the two became Old Trafford’s most popular player.

Ronaldo, who joined Sporting Lisbon as David Beckham’s replacement in 2003, was initially thin as he tried to adapt to his new environment.

The club made him follow a diet plan and nutritional program, which changed his life.

Mick Clegg was a servant under Sir Alex Ferguson. He spoke in 2020 about the hard work involved in making Ronaldo a star.

He said, “Very early in his time at club – within the first few weeks – Cristiano asked me to help Him become the Best in the World.”

He wanted to be more like Ryan Giggs. He wanted to do better than everybody.
