As all things ought to be, perfectly balanced
F1 2021 was a very volatile PlayStation 5 release.
Back in July, Codemasters released a patch that temporarily disabled ray-tracing to aid the game’s stability. This has been corrected and raytracing is now back in place.
With the latest update 1.06, a third feature that is PS5-specific has been removed, 3D audio.
According to the patch notes, it was removed due to “audio issues”.
Although the notes don’t go into details as to what those issues were, looking through the Codemasters forum, it appears some PS5 players with 3D Audio on experienced additional background sounds from other cars that drowned out the sound of a player’s car.
It’s not clear how long this will take, but I think players will be able to get it fixed quickly, given that the problems with Ray-tracing were addressed.
