Knowhere has been visited by the Guardians of the Galaxy a number of times during their travels.
In the opening movie, Knowhere was shown to be made from the severed head of a deceased Celestial.
Knowhere, just like the comics books, is used to meet bargainers or buccaneers across the galaxy.
The comics also mention Knowhere as a point for travel. This allows people to use the latent abilities of the dead creature to teleport around the world.

At the time, he said: “I am what’s known as a Celestial sweetheart”, before clarifying that he is “like God.”
