Jordan Henderson, Liverpool’s captain has signed a four-year extension to his contract. This will keep him in the club through the summer 2025.
Since signing in 2011 from Sunderland, the 31-year old has played 394 games for Liverpool and was made captain of Liverpool in 2015.
Henderson has been awarded the Premier League, Champions League, and League Cup with Liverpool. His previous contract had only two years left, but he has extended his Anfield stay until 2025.
After Alisson, Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk signed new contracts this summer, the England midfielder is now the most senior player to make a commitment to his future.
Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool’s Premier League team against Norwich said that Henderson was in contract negotiations.
We don’t discuss these types of matters and can not make exceptions in any one case.
“There is no need to be worried, that’s all I can tell you. Everything will be fine and handled as they should.
“That’s all that I have to report, but I think if you’re calm about it you’ll see the progress.
