Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Edinson Cavani after Man Utd’s star drops the No 7 shirt

Ronaldo’s official return to Old Trafford was confirmed Tuesday night by a contract for two years that also includes the option of a third.

After a period of three years in Turin, Italy with the giants Juventus for 12 years, the Portuguese returns to Manchester.

The Red Devils couldn’t reveal the shirt that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would wear, so Cavani was the current owner of No 7.

A United statement was read out on Thursday night, “Manchester United confirms that Cristiano Ronaldo will be wearing the legendary no.7 shirt upon his return to Old Trafford.”

Ronaldo will inherit the number from Edinson Cavi, who wore it last season in the away victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
