Robson Green (56), Grantchester actor, suffered a ruptured disc in his lower back 4 years ago. He “blacked out” while on his way to Royal Ascot. The ITV star told how the pain was so severe he lost consciousness as his partner Zoila and paramedics rushed to check whether he was paralysed.
Geordie Keating, the actor who appears in ITV’s drama Geordie, said that he believes his back injury was caused by a fishing trip. He caught a fish of 360kg for Extreme Fishing TV.
Robson spoke last year and said that he remembered his trip to Costa Rica for large marlin fishing. He also remembered the tweaking of his lower back as he landed a fish of 800 pounds.
“I was unable to sit down because I felt strange pins and needles in both of my legs.
He said, “I flew back and I knew there was something wrong as soon as I got off my plane.”
Julia, an Australian paramedic, said softly, “Now Robson, are you wet?” Did you s*** your pants?’
And I think, “What!” “I don’t know!” he said.
The ruptured disc that the Star had suffered from didn’t affect his spinal cord, but he was still in pain and needed to have surgery.
Robson called the pain “all-consuming”, stating that it was “all-consuming”. His dignity is gone. He told The Mirror that you can’t wipe your bum.”
