Victor Lindelof discusses the ‘big problem at Man Utd’ as he gives Raphael Varane verdict

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has insisted that he is excited by the competition created by the summer arrival of Raphael Varane. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has threatened the place of the Swede in his team with the signing the ex-real Madrid player.

Solskjaer made it a priority to sign a centre-back at the beginning of this summer, and he chose Varane as his choice. In a PS35million bargain deal, the 28-year old was bought by Real.

Last season, Lindelof was not at his best. Harry Maguire has signed Varane as his partner.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a successful start to the season and played an excellent pass to Bruno Fernandes for the Portuguese to complete his hat-trick in the 5-1 demolition of Leeds United on the opening day of the new Premier League term.

Varane, however, replaced him in last week’s victory over Wolves by Varane and now it is a certain that he will keep his spot in the team.

United have spent over PS120million this summer on Varane, Jadon Sancho and legendary forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who has sensationally returned for a second spell at Old Trafford.

Lindelof said, “I’ve played a lot over the past two years. Last year I had major problems with my back.

My back is feeling good, I don’t think it will be any problems. However, I doubt I will play 60 or 50 matches.

It is obvious that there is an excellent atmosphere at the club, and everybody is eager to have him in the team. He will bring a lot of fun to the team.

The squad is looking very well. The atmosphere is great, the team feels happy and Premier League can be tough.

We will try our best to win this title. This is our goal.

Solskjaer’s team has had a good start to the season with seven points in their first three matches.

After the Leeds 5-1 defeat, there was a disappointing draw of 1 with Southampton.

Mason Greenwood scored then the goal that ended in victory against Wolves at 1-0.

United supporters are looking forward to Ronaldo’s return when the club hosts Newcastle in September 11.
