The United States’ Gulf Coast has been devastated by Hurricane Ida, along with large parts of the Eastern Seaboard. As recovery efforts get underway, a group of game developers based out of Louisiana have assembled a bundle of indie games, with proceeds going to support several charities dedicated to helping victims of the storm.
It includes 15 games and is available at itch.io. Last Man Alive is a game where you take on the role of astronaut Jerry Jerry Lewis and have to decide how you will spend your final 15 minutes aboard the International Space Station. Doggone: The Journey Begin is a 2.5D, non-violent adventure game in which you take control of a dog who’s trying to return home.
Headspace is an adventure game where you take on the role of the Rational Brain. This brain helps other parts of the body deal with anxiety and depression symptoms. Final Battle, an interactive fiction piece about what our thoughts will be when we end our lives is called Interactive Fiction. Shopping Spree gives you a shopping cart with a random grocery list. You’ll need to search every store to locate all of the products.
The New Orleans Game Developers nonprofit will handle all profits and distribute them to charity organizations such as Cajun Navy and Bucket Brigade.
You can find the Southeast Louisiana Hurricane Ida Relief Bundle at itch.io. A bundle of 15.99 games will be yours for $10. Along with six other game publishing companies, you’ll be supporting relief efforts in Louisiana. According to organizers, Raw Fury Publisher has donated $10,000.
New Orleans residents and Baton Rouge are still without electricity. The state advised those who fled to their homes that they would not return. Authorities estimate it will take weeks, if not months before the power can be restored to affected areas and parishes.
