How does the Bible speak about COVID-19 and coronavirus?

Even though the coronavirus has not been mentioned in the Bible by name, many Christians claim that there are messages and passages online which can link it to the pandemic.

Matthew 24 is a commonly cited passage.

According to the scripture, “For nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom shall arise: there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places.”

All these are just the beginnings to your sorrows.

This passage can be attributed to Jesus Christ, who explained to his disciples what they should expect prior to his second coming.

Luke 21 provides a similar description of Jesus’ teachings.

This passage says:

“But they will lay hands upon you and persecute, taking you to the synagogues and into jails. They’ll bring you before rulers and kings to my name.”

2 Chronicles 7 warns about plague in another passage: “If you shut down heaven so that it rains, or if the locusts devour the land,, or if my people are subject to pestilence;”

“If my people which are called by me, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn away from the wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive them their sin and heal their land.”

The Bible has more information on the subject.

A Twitter user stated that the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse, which represent War, Famine and Pestilence, are responsible for this global coronavirus.

We don’t know them, but they can be felt everywhere.”

Book of Revelation, the final Book of the Bible.

John the Apostle wrote it and it details his visions for the end of time.

His visions include warnings about pestilence and plague.

According to Ed Jarrett, a contributor, the claims that COVID-19 has biblical origins are not supported by any evidence.

He stated that history is full of wars and plagues which kill large numbers. None of this has ever been an indicator of the end.
