Toni Kroos provides update on return from injury
Toni Kroos has revealed that he is edging closer to full fitness, but cannot pinpoint an expected date of return. After suffering a sports injury in pre-season, the German international has yet to play for Real Madrid.
Kroos last appeared in action during Germany’s loss to England in the 16-tie at Euro 2020. Soon after, he announced that he was retiring from international football in order to concentrate on his Los Blancos professional career.
Real Madrid expected to gain from Kroos’s German decision as they were looking to make a significant contribution to the season. But that is not the case. The player recently took to Twitter to provide an update on his injury and remains hopeful of returning to action soon.
“I feel better. Truth is, I can’t do all things without pain. This is normal for an injury. Kroos said that although it’s impossible to predict when exactly I will be back, he works every day on the issue to make sure he is back as quickly as possible.
Reinier set to return to Real Madrid after premature end of loan spell
Borussia Dortmund are contemplating putting a premature end to Reinier’s loan spell at the club, according to Marca via Bild. Since joining the Bundesliga team on loan last year, Reinier has struggled to make an impact. Reinier was a key player in the nation’s Olympic victory this summer, but he has not been able to reproduce that performance at the Westfalenstadion.
In 20 Dortmund appearances, the Brazilian forward has scored just one goal. The Bundesliga team is keeping an eye on Reinier’s progress. Reinier’s loan agreement could be cancelled if Reinier does not show improvement quickly and he will be returned to Santiago Bernabeu.
