This technology can be used in a variety of fields, including construction and agriculture, but it could also be deployed on the scene of natural disasters.
A second project is being developed by Dr Yujiang Wang, Newcastle University.
To analyse epileptic seizures, the team will use wearable sensors and long-term brain records.
Dr Wang’s research team could use their knowledge to predict future seizures, and potentially reduce the severity of them by studying the variations in seizures from one case to another.
