Activision, publisher of Call of Duty Vanguard is hosting this weekend’s first of two multiplayer beta testing sessions.
Call of Duty Vanguard Beta 1 will be held on September 10, at 6pm BST UK Time.
Fans need to know about a few limitations.
This beta is only for PlayStation 3, so Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC users will need to wait a while before they can get in on the fun.
Second, the beta version of Call of Duty Vanguard is not available for pre-order.
You can pre-order the game online, or in retail to receive a code for the beta.
Call of Duty Vanguard is available for PS69.99 via PSN. However, you can get the PS4 version at a lower price by buying a boxed copy from retail.
The Call of Duty Vanguard beta is free and doesn’t require you to subscribe to PlayStation Plus, which should help save some money.
There are several options if you don’t have pre-ordered your game.
It’s worthwhile to follow some of the larger Call of Duty streamers in order to get code giveaways.
Activision could also offer codes on Twitter. It’s worth keeping an eye out for social media.

Open beta for Call of Duty Vanguard will take place starting September 16th and is accessible on all platforms without pre-order.
The Vanguard beta will offer fans a longer look at Champions Hill, the new game mode.
Champion Hill was introduced during the Alpha test. The tournament is described as multi-arena survival tournament that “combines tactics and strategy with close-quarter gunplay”.
Vanguard Beta also features classic modes such as Domination, Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed.
Fans can also check out Patrol Multiplayer Mode, which offers moving objectives on three maps.
You’ll get a Weapon Blueprint bonus when you reach level 20 in the multiplayer Vanguard Beta.
