Fortnite Season 8: What’s the wait for Fortnite servers? Are you looking for an update?

A new Fortnite update is launching tonight, with Epic Games providing important news regarding maintenance and downtime.

Fortnite Servers have been shut down for Season 8 Maintenance in the morning of Monday, September 13.

Epic Games plans to launch Chapter 2 Season 8 after the completion of this season.

However, Fortnite servers currently are down as per the information shared. They will be undergoing further maintenance today.

This means that gamers will not be able to use the UK’s internet for the majority of the day.

Fortnite will be unavailable for play until the team has deployed the next update.

Fortnite’s downtime this week will continue longer because of the launch of Season 8. The good news is there will be tons of new content available on PlayStation 2, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mobile.

It follows Operation Sky Fire which was a major Fortnite event that made significant changes to the overall narrative for Season 8.


The Fortnite Season 8 downtime has begun, but the countdown will stop and all servers will be down at 7 AM BST.

Epic Games warns that the game may not be playable at this time, but they will continue to work on it.

This means that Fortnite Season 8 maintenance will be ongoing past 7 a.m. BST, and may continue for several hours afterward.

Epic Games has just sent out the following message: “Cubes currently take over Fortnite due to Operation: Sky Fire. They are shaping up Season…

“Server downtime for Chapter 2 Season 8 (v18.00) begins September 13 at 02:00 AM ET (06:00 UTC). Keep checking back for more updates

You won’t be able to use Fortnite during this Cube Takeover. Protect the Island!

S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.”

Fortnite Season 8 will not be available for play until 1pm BST. We do not know the exact timing, but we have seen previous launches and it is reasonable to assume that Fortnite Season 8 will still be accessible.

Gaming fans saw today that the Fortnite Mothership was blown apart and it’s likely to bring about some major changes on the map.

A new Battle Pass will be available to purchase on September 13th, as well as an update that can also be downloaded.

Epic Games has confirmed that the latest download will be bigger than normal due to all of the content coming to the game.
