The Lancet report authors believe that vaccine resources are more effective spent on unvaccinated people.
Experts also warn of possible health problems like myocarditis, which is a weakness of the heart muscle. This could be a side effect of booster shots.
Researchers noted that side effects may be increasing in severity, which could have a negative effect on the acceptance of vaccines.
The authors wrote, “Thus widespread boosting should only be done if there are clear evidences that it is appropriate.”
Addition: “The current evidence doesn’t appear to support a need to boost in the general population. In which efficacy remains high against severe diseases, this is a good sign.”
