United led from the beginning with Ronaldo. He seized Bruno Fernandes’ inch-perfect pass and slotted it home within 13 minutes.

The momentum changed quickly when Aaron Wan Bissaka, who was ten minutes prior to the break received a straight card for full-blooded lunging.

Young Boys were level at the time that Moumi Ngamaleu scored on 66 minutes, just before Siebatcheu’s final-gasp winner sent United to an embarrassing defeat.

With just seconds left, Lingard misplaced the ball and the American forward grabbed it. He converted the ball past David de Gea.

United was far from their best during the match, as the Red Devils failed to score after 25 minutes and United only 30.7 percent of the ball in half-time.

Solskjaer was a questionable call from the touchline. His decision to change to a back-five after Wan-Bissaka’s dismissal allowed Young Boys to win the game.

Lingard’s replacement for Ronaldo was not enough to save the match. The mistake that resulted in Siebatcheu winning was made by West Ham’s former player, Lingard.

Solskjaer clarified after the whistle that Solskjaer had made the decision to release the five-time Ballon d’Or Winner. He did this to make sure he was fresh and there were many important games ahead.

The United boss said, ” He must be taken care of.”

DO NOT MISS

Solskjaer also leapt to defend Wan-Bissaka’s position, suggesting that the artificial pitch may have been partly responsible for the mistimed challenge in the first half.

The 48-year old added, “That’s just a bit of the astroturf.”

Aaron is able to get a touch too far, but he perseveres. The referee is hard to fault.

He didn’t hit his ankle but he did strike him on his top foot.

Harry Maguire, the United captain, also commented on the dismissal of his teammate. The England player suggested that the referee had made a poor decision.

Maguire stated, ” In slow motion I am sure every tackle that you do will make it work,”

We could have done more with the counter-attacks to win this game. ”
