By the end of 2018, the new 2023 BMW XM model will be available. While the car will not be in production until December 2022, its introduction to the marketplace is planned for 2023. Three models will be available, with the V8 plug in hybrid offering at least 750 HP. Rendering artists have begun to guess the design for the futuristic top M SUV ahead of its official unveiling.
The latest Photoshop image is courtesy @kelsonik, and auto.mail.ru. This new BMW XM Photoshop photo follows the same pattern as previous ones: split headlights with massive kidney grilles that have horizontal slats. The front bumper is aggressive. We also know the unique arrangement of the BMW XM’s exhaust pipes. The BMW XM will have stacked quad exhausts instead of the traditional side-by-side quad circle exhausts that were used in almost all other M cars.
The internal name is said to be “Project Rockstar” which clearly implies the baddest and most powerful SUV of the range: a staggering 552 kW / 750 PS (740 hp). Two other PHEV XM models are part of the new XM family as well. One of the six-cylinder hybrid XM models will produce 460 kW / 625 PS (617 hp). They will also come with unique name designations, but more on that later.
According to Oliver Zipse, the CEO of BMW, the BMW Spartanburg plant will manufacture the new BMW vehicle. Zipse said that the company will announce plans to make another top-quality car at this site by the end of 2011. It isn’t a replacement model. This is a new model that is high-end not only for America but for all markets. The Spartanburg plant produces the BMW X3, X4, X5 and X6 as well as M SUV models. So it is natural to expand the line of production to include the XM.
