Xavi

Barcelona is open to hiring managers that have played previously for the club.

This was the logic they used to hire Koeman in 2019, just after Quique Setien’s terrible spell as head.

This means that Xavi will be automatically linked in the unlikely event Koeman becomes unemployed.

He won all the major trophy during his stay in Catalonia and established himself as one the greatest players of their history.

He’s been a great leader of Al Sadd and has guided them to six trophies.

Roberto Martinez

Roberto Martinez was linked to Tottenham during the summer, before Spurs chose instead to appoint Nuno Espito Santo.

If Laporta feels that a shift is needed, the Belgium boss could be another candidate to replace Koeman.

Even though they have yet to win any trophies, he has helped establish the Red Devils as an international side of excellence.

Martinez wanted to impose his wild style on the Barcelona team.

It would not be an easy gamble, considering how Everton and Wigan were managed by him in the past. One that could be worth it…

Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag, another name associated with Tottenham was before he chose to sign a new contract and stay at Ajax.

This 51-year old has helped to develop the current Ajax team and help them to reach the Champions League semi finals in 2019.

The Dutchman could be the perfect candidate, especially with Barcelona desperately in need of a job rebuilding.

Barcelona is fond of employing former players and shares Ajax DNA.

Ten Hag might be another option for Laporta.
